About seeing Jesus (part 2 of 4)…

Revelation 3:11 I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown. 12 Him who overcomes I will make a pillar in the temple of my God. Never again will he leave it. I will write on him the name of my God and the name of the city of my God, the new Jerusalem, which is coming down out of heaven from my God;… (NIV)

It is more difficult to see Christ in or with our spirit than it is to see Him with our eyes. It is more difficult to see Christ in spirit because we have to do spiritual work to acquire our spiritual vision. To see Christ with our physical eyes requires nothing from us other than the movement of our eyes to His physical location. To see Christ with our spirit requires more from us than many people are willing to pay. To see Christ in our spirit we must turn away from the sin plague of our lives. To see Christ in our spirit requires we first see our lives as fallen into sin's deadly grasp. After we come to grips with our sinfulness, we must then understand that Christ took that very sin to the Cross with Him and He was crucified by that very sin. In His death, Christ erased our sinfulness from our souls if we accept His sacrifice and accept Him as the person who can truly guarantee us eternal life in Heaven. To see Christ, we must see Him dying upon the cross for us personally. To see Christ, we must go through the trauma of understanding we were each the ones who drove the nails into His hands. To see Christ, we must let the sin in us be destroyed by His love. To see Christ, we must be willing to give our very life up to Him as He is dying for us. To see Christ, we must undergo a total meltdown of the soul He gave us and the soul that is corrupted by our being born into this sea of sin and darkness we call life.
