Previous Daily Devotional About
seeing past other's exterior shell… 1
Peter 3:2-4 when they see the purity and reverence of your lives. 3 Your beauty
should not come from outward adornment, such as braided hair and the wearing of
gold jewelry and fine clothes. 4 Instead, it should be that of your inner self,
the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in
God's sight. (NIV) Dashed
hopes… Broken
hearts… Shattered
dreams… Fears
killing all visions of the future… Sin
ravaging the heart and soul… Too often we do not see these elements of the inner person. Too often we do not see the person Christ died to save. Although we should see the inner person, even the inner person within ourselves, often we do not. When we see the inner person, the person Christ died to save, we begin to be able to love others more fully, to forgive them more completely, and to feel genuine compassion for them. When we begin to see past the exterior shell of others, we are beginning to see the others like Christ sees them…the very way Christ wants us to see them.
