seeing past your temptation… Matthew
26:41 "Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit
is willing, but the body is weak." (NIV) The horrid voice of Satan sweetly calls into your ear to cave into your temptations. The horrid voice of Satan sweetly tells you that you only live now. The truth is we can all live forever and we are not bound up in a series of "now's". When you are tempted, you must totally disregard the temptations of the present moment and you must disregard the pain of the temptation. In disregarding your temptations of the moment you gain power over your temptations. You gain power over your temptations by seeing Christ waiting for you in Heaven. When you see Christ waiting for you in Heaven you also begin to see how this is the time for Christ's glory to be bathing your soul. Even in the worst moments of temptation Christ is waiting to pour out His power of love into your heart. Even when you feel helpless against the satanic evil trying to destroy your oneness with God, Christ wants you to reach up to Him and see Him as your protector, your guide, and your defender. When you are blind to Christ and His power in your life then you are at the mercy of Satan who wants to take you down. When you are blind to the love of God coming to you as a shield and a defender then you must affirm in your temptations God is real for you today, tomorrow, and forever.
