Previous Daily Devotional About shining glory… Exodus
34:29 When Moses came down from Mount Sinai with the two tablets of the
testimony in his hands, he was not aware that his face was radiant because he
had spoken with the Lord. (NIV) Have you ever heard the term or used the term “bright and shining faces”? The face of Moses was “bright and shining” or radiant because he had seen God. Moses had not seen God face to face. Moses had only seen God going away. Your face would also be radiant if you had also only seen God going away. You would glow if you had seen only a glimpse of God. Most importantly, people see your radiance or lack of radiance in your face. When people look at you, do people see pain and trouble, or do others see someone full of God’s joy and happiness? Do others look at you and see someone who is looking toward the Lord for inspiration, or do others see someone who is constantly looking to the world and looking to others for inspiration? Unfortunately, people constantly look to others and to the world to find happiness, peace, and contentment. People also look within themselves to find happiness that seldom appears. However, when we look to the glory of God, we reflect the glory or radiance we find in God. When we see the glory of God we radiate the glory just like Moses was radiating the glory. When we are constantly looking toward God it shows on our face because when we look toward God we radiate His love, caring, compassion, forgiveness, and power. When we look toward God we are giving God the glory by directing our heart toward Him. In return, we get a glimpse of His glory…and it shows.
