Previous Daily Devotional About showing God's tenderness Acts 20:35 In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: `It is more blessed to give than to receive.' " (NIV) There is brutality at every turn in life. It makes no difference what age we are. Cutting remarks can scar a child for life. The harsh realities of living in a nursing home cut the heart of the elderly. In between our childhood and elder years are the years of productivity. However, circumstances and relationships that break our heart can savage our years of productivity. In these savage times, we need to show others the tenderness of Christ. In these times when feelings are brutalized, just one person showing a small amount of Christ's tenderness can make the difference between failure and success, living or dying, or fullness and emptiness in life. If you were in a crisis or if you are in a crisis now, a tender word or gesture from someone else makes all the difference in your healing and in your overcoming the crisis. What is most important of all is that you understand how others desperately need your show of tenderness. Since God is invisible, you can be a visible reminder to people that God tenderly loves them and calls them to be His child. There is no greater achievement in life than to help someone find the tender love of God. There is no greater reward than the reward we receive in Heaven given to us by Christ for helping others find Him. |
