Look and see the stars in the heavens Psalms 19:1 The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. (NIV) Wheel of Fortune rules the early night hours and captures the eyes of millions. All the while there is an emerging galaxy of infinite lights above each of us that seems to move across our sky until the early glow of dawn appears in the eastern sky. On a clear night, out in the country, you can look up rather than looking at a television set. In the Lord's starry, starry heavens, you see the handiwork of our loving God. We cannot see and cannot know about the infinite nature of His universe His universe that has sparked the imagination of humankind for thousands of years. His stars in the sky do not spin wheels but are gentle twinkling orbs that tell us, if we listen, there is a mighty Hand in all things. His stars in the heavens remind us there is a mighty Hand upon each of our lives. If you reach up you cannot touch His stars but if you reach within you can touch Him, the One who created them and placed them. We can walk upon the moon but it was God who made it. It was God who placed the moon in its special orbit so we would have life upon the earth. The mysteries and majesties of His stars are awing, but the mysteries and majesties of His stars cannot compare to the mystery, majesty, and glory of our God who made them. |
