About
taking a survey of the land for victory…
Numbers 13:17 When Moses sent them to
explore
Canaan
,
he said, "Go up through the
Negev
and on into the hill country. 18 See what the land is like and whether the people
who live there are strong or weak, few or many. 19 What kind of land do they
live in? Is it good or bad? What kind of towns do they live in? Are they
unwalled or fortified? 20 How is the soil? Is it fertile or poor? Are there trees on it
or not? Do your best to bring back some of the fruit of the land." (NIV)
On
a field of battle, the commanders of the forces need to know the lay of the
land. In our modern era, satellite images and computer imaging give critical
information about the battle ground in modern warfare. At this very moment,
there is a spiritual war for your heart and soul. In the spiritual war for your
heart and soul, you determine the outcome of this spiritual war. To be
victorious for Christ and for His work upon the earth, you must know your
spiritual landscape. Your spiritual landscape is made up of spiritual places you
can go to find rest, spiritual places you can go to find peace, and spiritual places
you can go to gain a spiritual advantage from the outpouring of Christ’s love.
Conversely, your spiritual landscape is also made up of places where you are at
your weakest, places that depress you, places where you are tempted to sin and
fall away, and places where you are in turmoil. To achieve victory, survey the
spiritual land of your life. Know the map of the spiritual ground upon which you
walk. When you know your spiritual map and landscape, you have tremendous
advantage over the adversary.
