Previous Daily Devotional About taking life in… Psalm 42:2 My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. (NIV) Our daily life should not be lived like we are watching a movie or television program. Our daily life should not be lived as if we are dispassionate bystanders watching a parade pass us by. Each of us is to take life in and we are to count every second as if the present second is the most precious second we ever lived. Counting each second as precious is nearly impossible when the seconds of our life are filled with pain, heartache, and trouble. When the seconds of our life are filled with pain, heartache, and trouble, our seconds are not counted as precious, but instead our seconds are counted as worthless. To turn our worthless seconds into precious treasures we need God. We need God to pour down His healing love, His abundant forgiveness, and His awesome compassion into our heart when we are in need. When we have God in our life pouring down His love, pouring down His forgiveness, and pouring down His compassion upon us, then our worthless moments are transformed into moments of blessing. Even in the worst times, even in the times when our life is ripped apart, God is with us and continues to pour His blessings over us. It is because God is always with us we can take life in and we need not be just a bystander. It is because God is always with us we can take life in and be productive, caring, and loving in spite of many trials and troubles. |
