About talking to God when you don’t want to
talk…
Job
2:13
Then they sat on the ground with him for seven days and seven nights. No one
said a word to him, because they saw how great his suffering was. (NIV)
Sometimes we don’t want to
talk to God. Sometimes we don’t want to be spiritual. There are times when we
don’t want to pray. Sometimes the last thing we want to do in the world is
talk to God. Many people hold God responsible for bad things that happen in life
and they do not want to talk to Him. Still other people feel God has given them
burdens they cannot carry and do not want. When we are in the state of mind
where we do not want to talk to God, we must remember talking to God is an
option or a choice. When we do not want to talk to God, we can do the next best
thing and just sit with Him. If you do not have the words to say to Him, or you
do not want to talk to God, then you can just be with Him. You can always be
with God without saying any words. You can sit on a park bench with Him, walk
along a deserted road with Him, or sit at a table with Him and not say a word.
For God does not care so much about what you say to Him as He cares about what
is in your heart. God cares more about how honest you are with Him than He is
with the words you say to Him. What God treasures most from you is your being
honest and truthful. For if you are angry with Him, be honest and let Him see
your anger. If you are full of doubt about Him, be honest and let Him see your
doubt. If you do not think He exists, be honest and let Him see what your think.
When you don’t want to talk, He understands and will be with you in your
silence. When you don’t want to talk, He still loves you no matter what. |
