About telling the truth about love Proverbs 12:22 The LORD detests lying lips, but he delights in men who are truthful. (NIV) It is hard to tell the truth about love because we need love so badly. To tell the truth about love means we have to tell about our need for love that so many times remains unfilled. To tell the truth about our need for love means we may not be able to deal with the truth after we have told it. Our plight in life is that we may get a few wisps of love from others but we are sometimes still alone and still not loved as much as we need by others. To tell this truth about our need for love begins to chip away at our defenses against the reality of not having love in our life. Not having love in our life can drive us insane. Not having love in our life to assuage the pain of life sometimes leaves us so scarred and bruised we may not heal. Love cannot be manufactured or made. Love exists and must be invited into our lives. To have love we must open the door of our heart, regardless of our past hurt, and we must take the chance love will touch us and fill our need. When we see Jesus we see the total embodiment of love God gave just for us. Our need for love is filled by Jesus coming to earth, His dying on the Cross for our sins, and His resurrection after being dead three days. When we learn to surrender our all to Him, our all that we surrender opens our heart so His love can flow into us and fill our hearts with peace, joy, contentment, and love beyond our words to describe. |
