Previous Daily Devotional About the appearing of the Chief Shepherd 1 Peter 5:4 And when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the crown of glory that will never fade away. (NIV) We sometimes think of heaven as a place in the sky filled with fluffy white clouds and thick fog. We sometimes think of heaven as a wispy place that has little substance. However, heaven is not a wispy place. Heaven is more concrete than the concrete of a sidewalk or highway. When we get to Heaven, we will see Christ Jesus. We will not see a holographic image. We will see Him as He is tangibly and physically real. In heaven, we will receive something for the sacrifices we have made in this life. In Heaven, we will receive a tangible crown of glory because we have withstood the trials and temptations of our life on earth. In Heaven, we will receive a crown that is not wispy, cloudy, nor prone to wear, tear, or fading. In Heaven, we will receive all the non-fading glorious love and non-fading riches of God. It is this vision, and it is this hope that gives us a power to win at life each day. It is this hope that makes us keep on keeping on. |
