Friday's Daily Devotional

About the blessings of heaven…

Ephesians 1:3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. (NIV)

We all want earthly blessings. We may want what we want when we want it and we may want it right now. However, there is only one problem with wanting what we want when we want it right now and the problem is we may not get “it”…whatever “it” might be. The truth is, no matter whether we have our “its” or not, our “its” are most likely earthly in nature. In addition, our “its” are seldom, if ever, a real blessing. Our real blessings and our greatest blessings are in heaven. Earthly blessings can be blown away by the winds of the earth. Heavenly blessings are eternal. Every hour of our life we have a choice about where we put our heart, mind, and soul. If we put our heart, mind, and soul in heaven we get heavenly rewards and heavenly blessings. If we put our heart, mind, and soul into the things of Satan’s earth, we get Satan’s reward. We must realize Satan’s earthly rewards do not last very long. Satan’s rewards may last for only a few minutes. As is generally the case, we may get bored with Satan’s rewards and want or need more of these rewards to fill up our emptiness. We must also come to know Satan uses our emptiness and his rewards to eat away at our soul. However, our heavenly blessings go on forever. Our heavenly blessings are infinite and never run out. In addition, our heavenly blessings restore our soul. Praise God for our heavenly blessings. Prayer Page For Friday [Go]  Affirmation Page For Friday [Go]
