Previous Daily Devotional About the meaning of what you give… Luke 21:2 .He also saw a poor widow put in two very small copper coins. 3"I tell you the truth," he said, "this poor widow has put in more than all the others. 4All these people gave their gifts out of their wealth; but she out of her poverty put in all she had to live on." (NIV) It is not the amount of what we give to God and the amount we give to others that is so important. It is the relative amount of what we give that is important. A person with limited ability who struggles mightily to do simple tasks for God is favored by God above others who have greater abilities. When we give from our poverty, no matter what kind of poverty it might be, God sees our giving and He sees our gift. When we give with love, we are giving our utmost for God and giving our utmost to God. When we give with love in spite of our pain, we give hoping what we do will be seen by God. God does in fact see what we give and in supernatural ways unknown to us, God adds to what we give. God piles on blessings upon blessings to what we give when we have given all we have for His glory. It is not important whether your gift is copper or gold. The chemical content of your gift is of little importance. What is important is what is in your heart as your gift is given out. God's blessings flow out to you when your heart flows out for Him. God's blessings flow out to you when your heart goes out with His gift dedicated to His glory. |
