About the power of God's word…
Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged
sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the
thoughts and attitudes of the heart. (NIV)
Each devotional you read is prefaced with the word of God. No word is greater than the
word of God. No mere human being can create the wisdom in God's word. When you need
answers, the Bible contains those answers. In the word of God, you find the truth about
God, about His love, mercy, and compassion. Every verse in the Bible can speak to you
about your life if you will open your mind to the God's truth. When your life is filled
with confusion and doubt, you will find verses in God's word that clear up your thinking.
When you are lost, you will find persons in the Bible who were also lost but who found God
the Father and who found Christ the Son. When you have exhausted all your own resources
and your own wisdom, open the word of God and you will find new resources, new thinking,
and new ideas. When you have truly opened your heart to God, the word of God speaks to you
as if God is speaking to you…because He is, does, and will speak to you from within
His word. From the word of God comes His power that is love. When the truth is difficult
to face, you find His truth in His word because God strengthens you and renews you. When
you are hurting, God speaks His words of comfort to you from the Bible. When you have
grown weary and have no hope, God's voice springs to life from His words on every page.
The word of God is timeless and will last forever.
