Previous Daily Devotional About envy and blessings… Proverbs 14:30 A heart at peace gives life to the body, but envy rots the bones. (NIV) It seems the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence. We look at what others have and wish we had it. We look at the life of others and wish we could have it as easy, as nice, as comfortable, or as carefree as they have it. It is normal for us to look at the life of others but we too often do not look deep enough. Look deeply into the life of those who seem to have all manner of material things and you may find they have very little. The person who has fancy cars, clothes, and houses may be smothered in debt and buried in misery. The grass may look greener on the other side of the fence. However, when you actually get to the other side of the fence, you find there is a ton of mowing, fertilizing, and maintenance to do. Instead of moving to the other side of the fence where things look so attractive, nice, and wonderful, we all need to count our blessings where we are right now, right this minute. When we survey the wonders of God's blessings in our life, we find His infinite love pours out His infinite blessings upon us.
