Matthew 5:10 Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. (NIV)

Righteousness is right living derived out of having a passion to always do the right thing. Our present world does not love and honor those people who have a passion for right living. If the world truly loved and honored righteousness, there would be few sinful acts. The world makes fun of persons who have committed their life to Christ and who live a godly and devout life. However, our time of open and extreme persecution is not yet come. In places where Christ is not honored, and where He is not worshipped, there is persecution for Christian believers. Persecution has many forms. Many forms of persecution are slow and subtle, slowly eating away at your willingness to live a moral and upright life. The come against persecution, we must take tiny steps toward doing the right thing thus building a righteous life. To live a morally upright and righteous life requires you make minute by minute decisions to always do what Christ wants you to do. When you take care of His details of living right, His right living details take care of you.
