Previous Daily Devotional About when tongues will be stilled… 1 Corinthians 13:8 …where there are
tongues, they will be stilled; (NIV) When we are within love, we become
speechless. When love is surrounding us we are in Christ's presence. When we are
in His presence the awe, the humility, and the grandeur of His being causes us
not to speak. When we are fully enraptured and fully immersed in the love that
is God, we lose our will to speak. The joy of being in the presence of His love
causes us to kneel down in humble silence. Christ's love calls our spirit to
soar beyond our present vocal abilities. When all tongues encounter Christ and
His power, these tongues are not able to speak when the owners of these tongues
are kneeling at the foot of His Cross. So great was His suffering, so terrible
was His pain, so pure was His love for each of us, tongues dare not speak nor
make any sound before Him on the Cross. |
