About
touching another heart…
Mark
12:30
Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all
your mind and with all your strength. 31
The second is this: `Love your neighbor as yourself. There is no
commandment greater than these." (NIV)
We are all inclined to think first of ourselves and our life. Our pain, our
trouble, our heartache, our worry, our doubt, and our fear can make all of us
selfish. Our selfishness makes us think first about us, rather than thinking
about reaching out and touching another heart. However, it is a supreme victory
for Christ when we forget about ourselves, think first of Him, and then put
others before ourselves. When you touch another heart, blessings flow in the
heart you touch. Even when you can see no evidence of the result of your
reaching out and touching another heart, there is still a positive result for
God and for the person touched. The heart you touch feels less pain, less
heartache, less worry, less doubt, and less fear. The heart you touch becomes
less selfish. The result of your reaching out and touching another heart is
stored in the heart of the person you touch, preferably without the person ever
knowing about what you have done. The result of your reaching out and touching
another heart is also stored in the heart of God. When you touch another
person’s heart, the power of God pours down from Heaven into the other
person’s life. The Light and love of Christ becomes real and tangible not only
in the heart of the person you touch, but in your heart as well.
