Previous Daily Devotional About the touch of God upon your heart John 16:19 `In a little while you will see me no more, and then after a little while you will see me'? 20 I tell you the truth, you will weep and mourn while the world rejoices. You will grieve, but your grief will turn to joy. (NIV) We sometimes want to run away. We sometimes do run away. Our lives are sometimes filled with events that break our heart. Sometimes we must live with the pain of heartbreaking events until we die. However, in spite of the darkest moments of your life, God reaches down and touches your heart if you are willing to receive His touch. When God touches your heart, the most brutal of moments is eased and His great love brings you into a loving oneness with Him. When your heart yearns for solace and relief from the many heartbreaks of living, God sparks His divine will within you and you can see His great Promised Land just ahead. Then, in His great Promised Land, you see Him. When it seems we have nowhere to turn and no one to listen to us, we suddenly bump into Christ who brings joy and peace to our hearts. It is a mystery how God can turn the sadness of your heart into joyful hope. It is a mystery how God can bring you hope and peace in the grimmest of circumstances. Because you live with His great mysterious workings does not mean these workings are not real in your heart. For if you would just open the door of your heart a little, you may then peer outside and see Christ standing there, and you will hear Him call your name. For if you would just open the door of your heart a little, your heart will be touched and your life will be flooded with His love, mercy, compassion and grace. |
