About the touch of God upon your soul Luke 15:7 I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent. (NIV) Your soul sits idly by and lets you run your life like you want. It is as if your soul is this thinking, living, breathing being that inhabits your body. In truth, your soul IS, your thinking, living, breathing being that inhabits your body. You may think of your body as a jar or container into which God poured your soul or life. When you die, your soul will leave your earthly frame and come before God for an evaluation or judgement about how you lived according to God's expectations of you. What we must fully understand is that God did not touch us at the moment of our creation to let us falter and fail. God touched us at the moment of our creation to see us grow and blossom in our soul or spirit. At the moment of your creation God meant and does now mean for you to grow beyond the confines of your present life. It is the very touch of God upon your soul that gives your soul the eye that can glimpse into infinity and see the infinite love of God. It is the very touch of God upon your soul that gives you the idea that in every dark circumstance there is hope when all rational thought of your rational mind tells you there is no hope. It is the touch of God upon your soul that enables your spirit to triumph when it appears defeat is virtually certain. It is the very touch of God that calls you to repent and turn back to Him who made you. |
