About touching Christ…

Matthew 14:35 And when the men of that place recognized Jesus, they sent word to all the surrounding country. People brought all their sick to him 36and begged him to let the sick just touch the edge of his cloak, and all who touched him were healed. (NIV)

How can we touch Him? How can we touch Him if He is in Heaven and we are upon the earth? How can we touch Christ if He is supernatural and we are natural in our flesh? You touch Christ by expressing your love for Him and by pouring out all of your life before Him. You touch Christ by asking Him to let you touch Him. Ask Him in your humility. Ask Him in your pride. Ask Him in your pain. Ask Him in your bliss. Ask Him in your doubt. Ask Him in your certainty. Ask Him in your plenty. Ask Him in your poverty. Ask Him in your victory. Ask Him in your defeat. When you ask Christ to let you touch Him, then He will always say “Yes!” to you. He will always say “Yes!” because your desire to reach out and touch Him makes Him touchable. It is your desire to reach out and touch Christ, not the asking in your mind or heart that makes Him real within you. It is your desire to walk with Him and talk with Him that makes Him touchable. It is your desire to sit with Him and pour your heart out to Him that closes the infinite space between you and Him so there is no space at all.
