About a treasure of the future Psalm 37:37 Consider the blameless, observe the upright; there is a future for the man of peace. (NIV) Even as we enter into or live in our senior years, when it seems our future days grow shorter and our thoughts are more often about the past than about the future, we still have a future. We have a treasure in the future no matter what our past and present are like. We have a treasure in the future because our future is a time we can use to shine the light of God's love into the hearts of others. The future is a time when we can grow by giving to others rather than receiving. The future is a time of drawing closer to God, not only in terms of seeing Christ face to face, but a time of new challenges as we try to do His work. Perhaps we have a future where we must face trials we do not want to face. Yet, even in the toughest circumstances in the future, even in times of pain, you can look forward to sharing special moments with Christ. In your future, there are glorious moments when you walk with Christ in His garden. In your future, there are glorious moments of receiving the Lord's love and comfort. In your future, in your ultimate future, lies a true promised land called Heaven. |
