Previous Daily Devotional About accepting Christ and trust… John 6:40 For my Father's will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day." (NIV) To get to a point where you trust God and you trust God in a healthy way, you must accept that Christ died for you. Accepting Christ into your heart and life requires you throw away the sin and darkness in your heart. Too truly and fully accept Christ into your heart, you must throw away your sin with force, vigor, and intent. We must throw away the sin in our heart with force, vigor, and intent because the sin in our heart keeps us from trusting God. The voice of sin in us wants us to ignore that Christ died for us. It is the voice of sin in us that wants us to ignore Christ's suffering for us. The voice of sin in us sometimes screams at us and when we listen to the voice of sin, we no longer fully trust God with our life. It is the great goal of Satan to get you to never trust God, to never trust others, and to only trust yourself. If you, unfortunately, learn to only trust yourself and to never trust others, you will be deeply disappointed in others. Then, sitting in your deep disappointment, and not having any trust in God, you will be where Satan wants you…crushed. However, if you trust God with all your heart, mind, and soul, even when others disappoint you, you will still have God's love pouring over you. When you trust God, even when you make mistakes and are a disappointment to yourself, you will still have God's love filling your heart. When you trust God, your trust in Him has a monumental impact on your life. When you trust God, disappointments may come to you, but you will have a hand to reach up to and a person upon whom you can depend forever and ever. |
