Previous Daily Devotional About upward expectations Luke 12:40 You also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him." (NIV) Each of us holds expectations within our heart and mind. Day and night, these expectations work to our benefit or to our detriment. When you expect the worst, you enable the worst to happen. When you expect the best, you enable the best to happen. You can expect God to instill within you a heart full of trust in Him. As you expect a heart full of trust in God, He brings you a heart brimming with faith. When you look at the devastation of the world, you can expect God to produce great achievements and these great achievements for Him will become reality through you. When you expect the highest calling of God's will upon your life, then no matter what the world is like, His calling upon your will serves as a mentor and guide in your daily walk. When you expect the best from God, you receive the best. When you expect the most from God, you receive the most. When you expect the best and the most, God most surely comes into your life and gives you a heart and mind overflowing in His grace and wisdom to solve the problems and difficulties you face. When there are trials and tribulations in your life and upon the earth, expect to see the Lord face to face and His glory will shine in your heart for others to see. When you expect the love of Christ to fill your heart, your heart is filled. When you expect the peace of His presence, peace reigns within you. |
