About an upward heart Deuteronomy 4:29 But if from there you seek the Lord your God, you will find him if you look for him with all your heart and with all your soul. (NIV) Our hearts are often sad and downcast because of circumstances in the world and because of circumstances in our lives. In these very sad and downcast moments, we must remember to turn to God. When our heart is cast down in sadness and depression, we must turn our heart toward God and listen intently for His quiet and tender voice that calls us to His side. When our hearts are full of sadness and grief, we must turn away from ourselves and toward Christ's redeeming love and hope. When our heart is closed off from God's presence, we must trust God to touch us and help us open our heart to His tender and uplifting touch for each of us. When our heart is pulled down, we can trust in Christ who will pull our heart upward toward His clouds of glory. When our heart is troubled, we can always turn our worried soul to Christ who will fill us with His unfailing love. When our heart is lost and it seems God is light years away, God is with us and pours out His love so we can always know we have a home with Him. It is because Christ's love and grace speaks so kindly to our heart that we find the hope to overcome our present circumstances. It is in Christ's love and grace that we find His glory, His truth, and His hope that fills every void of life. |
