About an upward mind Psalms 96:3 Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous deeds among all peoples. (NIV) Many of our thoughts are too often upon the world, upon ourselves, and upon the daily cares of life. As our days fly by at increasing speed, our thoughts are too often upon the mundane, the meaningless, and the trite. We must remember we can control the direction of our mind. We must remember we can control what we think about and who we think about. We can voluntarily turn our mind upward toward God. We can voluntarily turn our mind upward toward His great wisdom and His great truth. When we think too long about the darkness of the world, we can turn our mind upward and see His light beaming down upon us from above. When we think too long about ourselves and our troubles, we must make every effort to turn our mind upward so we can see God's mighty power pouring down over our lives. When think too long about the daily cares of life, then our mind, heart, and soul begin to be corrupted by the darkness. However, we can voluntarily turn our mind upward so we can see how His will can be used to turn every minute of life into a minute showing His love, His grace, and His glory. Continually thinking about the majesty of God brings a majestic result in our life and in the life of those around us. Thinking about God's meaning and purpose for our life brings to us a life full of meaning and purpose. When we think about the glory and grandeur of Heaven, the glory and grandeur of Heaven are made manifest in our life and in the lives of those we interact with each day. |
