Previous Daily Devotional About using failure as a way to make
progress… Matthew
17:18 Jesus rebuked the demon, and it came out of the
boy, and he was healed from that moment. 19 Then the disciples came to Jesus in
private and asked, "Why couldn't we drive it out?" 20
He replied, "Because you have so little faith. I tell you the truth,
if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain,
`Move from here to there' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for
you." (NIV) You can use every failure in your life to your advantage and use every failure as a way to glorify God. To use every failure to your advantage and to glorify God, you must think of failure as having a special purpose for your life. Looking at failure in this way, you can see the purpose of failure is to keep you down, discouraged, and depressed. When you encounter failure, consider the failure to have hidden secrets and from these hidden secrets resolve to move forward rather than letting your life be mired down. When failure appears in your life use failure to acquire God’s wisdom. Use failure to discover what you might never have discovered without the failure occurring. When you encounter failure, use failure to be more and do more for Christ and His work on earth. Use failure to learn God’s secrets of life, for the secrets of life are often buried in the rubble of failure. When you adopt the idea of using failure for God’s glory then you turn your times of failure into times of unqualified success. When you resolve to use failure as a stepping stone to doing what God wants you to do, then every moment has the opportunity of a lifetime.
