About
the war between darkness and light…
Col.
1:13 For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the
kingdom of the Son he loves (NIV)
To
some extent, people are misled when others do not tell them about evil. Some
people do not believe evil exists in the world, they do not believe in the power
of darkness, and they do not believe in Satan. These persons do not believe
people can be evil or do evil acts because in their way of thinking, evil does
not exist. However, the people who do not believe evil exists may believe in
God. They may believe Christ is the Son of God but not that He died for our sins
because in their thinking, sin does not exist. The problem with this kind of
thinking is the thinking is flawed. In our reality, every coin has two sides. In
our reality, for every up there is a down, for every right there is a left, for
every plus there is a minus. In our physical reality, there is both darkness and
light. In both our physical and spiritual life, there is darkness and light,
goodness and evil, and God and Satan. In us, on us, and all around us there is a
vicious war, a spiritual war, going on. In this spiritual war, every second
Satan is attacking us. If we bury our head in the sand and ignore Satan and his
attacks, we end up being victims before our time is up on earth. Christ came
into the world because there was evil and darkness manifested as sin. Christ
came as the light of the world to bring us His light and truth in our darkness.
With His light and truth, we can combat the evil in our spiritual war and win
His eternal victory.
