what Christ wants… Philippians
3:12 Not
that I have already obtained all this, or have already been made perfect, but I
press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. 13
Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one
thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, 14
I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me
heavenward in Christ Jesus. (NIV) Our
Lord Jesus wants you to face every trouble of life with a positive outlook
because if you will look into the future from God’s perspective, you can see
the glory of God in the distance. No matter how difficult your troubles are now,
God wants you to look up to Him rather than being consumed by your darkness in
the here and now. Christ wants you to trust Him rather than trying to live as if
you do not need Him. Christ wants you to be strong and test His truth when you
are full of doubts. Christ wants you to try to understand all that is written
about Him rather than just chalking up so many things to His mystery. Jesus
wants you to tame the unrest in your soul by praying and meditating about His
love each day. Jesus wants you to turn your selfishness and pride into selfless
service for Him without complaining, protesting, or whining. In your darkest
hours, when you are weeping, Christ wants you to calm your heart and spirit so
you can hear and then comfort the weeping of others. Whenever you can, God wants
you to visit the widow and the recluse for a few minutes to give them hope,
cheer, and a connection to Him. In all ways and at all times, Jesus wants you to
love others as He loves you.
