You are in God's hand. You are in Christ's eye every moment. God wanted you to know the details about Jesus and His birth. God wanted you to know the name of Christ's mother and stepfather. God wanted you to know these details because God wants you to know He includes you in His kingdom. God could have left out the name of Mary and Joseph from the biblical record. However, by giving you these personal details out of Christ's life, you are more likely to see the truth about God and Jesus. The truth you are more likely to see about God and Jesus is God and Jesus are personal to you. Christ is your personal God. God, our Father in Heaven, is your personal God. Jesus was born for you personally. Of all the profound truths about God, perhaps the truth that He loves you in a personal way is the most profound truth of all. We speak often about how Christ is our personal savior. However, the idea of Christ as our personal savior must go beyond a theological idea and into a personal experience. It is a personal experience to be included in God's family, to know Jesus, and to know about His mother Mary and His stepfather Joseph. It is a personal experience to be included in God's family, to kneel at His manger, and to peer into His little eyes on Christmas Eve.
