Previous Daily Devotional This Devotional Is Part Of A Continuing Series Related To Dependency And Co-dependency Issues. Rules Of Godly Common Sense Apply. About what we should feel and do feel when others have a problem… Ezekiel 18:30 Therefore, O house of Israel, I will judge you, each one according to his ways, declares the Sovereign Lord. (NIV) When we live in the power and strength of Christ, our heart is to be touched by others when they have a problem. In strength, our heart is to go out to others. However, what happens to us when we are in weakness and we are touched by other's needs? What happens to us when we are weakened by our own issues and we see those who have an issue? In our weakness, we can feel anxiety, pity, and guilt when we see other people who have a problem. The issue for us as a Christian is whether we live in strength or we live in weakness before Christ. In strength, we can help others the most. In strength, we can help others be strong when they have a problem. However, when we are weak, we are greatly hindered when we try to help others. Worst of all, when we try to help others when we are weak, we can make others weaker rather than stronger. Christ wants all persons to be empowered, not powerless. When others have a problem, Christ wants us to see their potential for greatness in Him, rather than our feeling anxiety, pity, or guilt because of their issues.
