About when God says ""No"" in His compassion…

Jeremiah 31:20 Is not Ephraim my dear son, the child in whom I delight? Though I often speak against him, I still remember him. Therefore my heart yearns for him; I have great compassion for him," declares the Lord. (NIV)

How could a loving and compassionate God ever turn us down? How could God turn His back upon us when we need Him to give us what we want? God sometimes tells us "No" in His compassion. God sometimes tells us we cannot have what we think we want and need but God does not delight in doing so. God does not enjoy not giving you what you demand, for God hurts with you and He hurts with you in your unmet needs. When God does not give you what you want and need, God does not rejoice. When God does not give you what you think you want and need, remember God is for you and not against you. When God does not give you what you think you want and need, God is your resource of compassion and caring. When we ask God to stop our pain and God says "No", God answers us with compassion for our suffering. When we ask God to take a burden away from us and God says "No", God still answers us with compassion because God knows we are being crushed. In the middle of our confusion over getting a "No" answer from God, we must try to accept God's compassionate love. For when we accept God's "No" answer in His compassionate love, any answer He gives us will be enough. When we no longer seek to do what we want to do and we seek to do only God's will, God pours His compassion over us. When we are willing to lay down our selfish pleas and petitions then our needs, wants, and requests melt away in our desire to be His obedient child.
