Previous Daily Devotional About when God's love does not heal… James 5:14 Is any one of you sick? He should call the elders of the church to pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord. 15 And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise him up. If he has sinned, he will be forgiven. 16 Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective. (NIV) We believe God's love can do all things. We believe God can do all things. We believe we can do all things through Christ who gives us strength. However, there may be times and there are times when God's love does not heal. This does not mean God's love will never heal. This does not mean love cannot heal in the next instant. God's love does heal, but the healing may not appear when we want, and we must remain patient. When God's love does not heal as we want to be healed or we need to be healed, we must keep on believing, keep on hoping, keep on trusting, and keep on keeping on. The reality of our life can be very different from the way we want our reality to be. The reality of our life is full of times when God's love is not healing us and we must walk with the injuries and scars of our past and present. However, when we want God's love to heal us we must remember to look at the long view of our life into eternity. When God's love has not healed us we must look at the long view of God's will in all things. Although God's love may not have healed you yesterday or today, His love will eventually heal you and restore you. You may need to wait on Heaven's appearance for your healing to come. But even if we have to wait on Heaven, our hope, our belief, and our trust will be rewarded in our eternal healing. Each of us knows deep within our soul we are loved, even when we are hurt and injured. Each of us knows deep within our soul God's will is to heal us. Each of us knows God will get His way with us if we will let Him direct us in His way…even in the present moment when we need His touch the most…even when we have to wait on His love to come amidst His angels in Heaven. |
