Previous Daily Devotional This Devotional Is Part Of A Special Continuing Series Related To Dependency And Co-dependency Issues. Rules Of Godly Common Sense Apply. About when others don't anticipate our needs… Jude 1:21 keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life. (ASV) Wants and needs are natural to every person. However, in every person, our wants and needs can often be driven in wrong directions by Satan. In the hands of Satan, our wants and needs can make us incredibly selfish and self-destructive. Being incredibly selfish, we can want others to pay attention to us by wanting them to anticipate our wants and needs. When we forget about God and we do not have His love within us, we can feel wronged or slighted when we have our needs ignored or not anticipated by others. However, when we have surrendered up our life to Christ, we put our wants and needs into His hands. When we walk with Christ each day, we never think about whether others are anticipating our needs. In Christ's power, we have a freedom from the enslavement of wanting others to anticipate our needs. As a person made strong in Christ, our needs are made small compared to Christ's call for us to reach out to others in His strength and in His power.
