Previous Daily Devotional About when pain makes no difference… Matthew 9:22 Jesus turned and saw her. "Take heart, daughter," he said, "your faith has healed you." And the woman was healed from that moment. (NIV) We
are able to change our worldly selfishness and our continual need to want
something worldly from God by giving our life to Christ. When we come to Christ
hanging on the Cross and we truly see our sinful selfishness crucified Him, we
are convicted. At the foot of His cross, we feel godly redeeming sorrow. At the
foot of His cross, we feel guilt for crucifying Him. Then, when we turn away
from our sin and we tell Him we are sorry and we ask Him to forgive us, His
grace pours over us and our sinfulness is washed away in His glory and grace. In
Christ, we have a hope for eternity. Our present life and our present problems
due to Satan's attacks may make us think there is no hope. Satan’s attacks may
even make us think there is no God, but we all know God and we know His love in
us is real. Subsequently, having Christ alive in your heart may not make your
physical life any different on the outside, but having Christ alive in your
heart makes your physical life different on the inside. From a physical and
emotional pain standpoint, we could go insane without Christ to give us comfort.
Many of us suffer physical and emotional pain. However, Christ is with us in our
pain. He stands beside us when we hurt. With Christ beside us, our pain makes no
difference. When you hurt, just as Christ is with others, He can also be with you if you invite Him into your life. Christ may not heal your physical afflictions. However, because He was willing to die for you and give you a chance at eternal life, it makes no difference if you have to live in pain or not. Your pain should make no spiritual difference to you because what He did for you is greater than your pain and greater then your darkness. Even in your pain, if you intently listen, you can hear Him calling you. You can hear Him calling your heart to turn to Him to receive His comfort and love this very hour. |
