Previous Daily Devotional About when we falter… 2 Corinthians 7:8 I see that my letter hurt you, but only for a little while-- 9 yet now I am happy, not because you were made sorry, but because your sorrow led you to repentance. For you became sorrowful as God intended and so were not harmed in any way by us. (NIV) Day to day, we have a grip upon our life. Sometimes we let go of our grip upon life and we let our life run in directions we know are wrong. When we falter we must not sit in dejection and self-imposed needless guilt. When we know we have faltered we must learn to own up and rebuild what was once ours. When we falter, we must get a grip over those areas of our life that we let slip away. In our Christian life, we gain our control over life by being humble, by being devout, and by kneeling in prayer each day. When we falter, we must learn our ego must be erased, and in place of our ego, we must place our heart before Christ hanging upon the cross. What is so important to remember is that God is not so much concerned about when, how, or where we faltered. God's biggest concern is what we are going to do today and tomorrow. God's will for us is not that we sit and look backward at all the times of our faltering. God's will for us is that we grow, mature, and improve for the future. |
