Previous Daily Devotional About when we lose sight… 2 Corinthians 4:3 And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing. 4 The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. 5 For we do not preach ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, and ourselves as your servants for Jesus' sake. (NIV) One of Satan's greatest weapons is blindness. Satan will try to take away your vision of God, take away your ability to see God, take away your ability to believe in Him, and even take away your ability to imagine God is real. When Satan cannot totally blind you to God's reality, Satan will blur your vision and make anything connected to God seem fuzzy and blurred. When your perceptions of right and wrong are blurred, wrong acts get committed. When your ability to see where God wants you to go is blurred, limited, or non-existent, you easily head off in wrong directions. Our vision of what God wants us to do, where He wants us to go, and who He wants us to be, is critical to our being His humble children. In our daily life, we must guard against being blinded by Satan. We must guard against Satan bringing temptations before us. We must be able to withstand temptations by being able to constantly and consistently living only for Christ and being able to shun or push aside the influences of the world. |
