Previous Daily Devotional About when you can't believe . Mark 9:24 Immediately the boy's father exclaimed, "I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!" (NIV) We have times when we suffer from unbelief. We have times of doubt. God is invisible to our eyes, inaudible to our ears, and untouchable with our hands, so times of doubt do visit upon us. In these times when you think you cannot believe, trust a little in God's power. For when you trust a little, a lot of big spiritual things start happening. In times of doubt, yield a little. Yield up your doubt to God because He understands what you are going through and what you need. When you think God is not listening or is not real, surrender a little of your soul, and His power of love will fill you with certainty. We cannot control many things in life. When life runs out of control, let God take care of His part of your life and He will greatly enable you to take care of your part. When you have doubts and it seems you cannot believe in Him, quiet your mind, sit with God, and let Him tell you what you already know. When the prospects of coming close to God seem remote, try to see the littlest things around you, for His majesty and His love are often seen in the little and unseen things of each minute. Try to break things down into their smallest bits and pieces. When doubt overrides your heart, give to others. For when you give to others and forget about yourself, you are closer to touching God than when you sit and expect God to touch you. In times of uncertainty, remember God is always with you in times of great doubt and in times of great faith. When you are not sure of anything, including your faith in God, remember the life you live is the life you assemble in His name. Lastly, your faith does not have to be large, because even when your faith is only the size of a mustard seed, your faith can move mountains. |
