Previous Daily Devotional When you have no life Ecclesiastes 9:7 Go, eat your food with gladness, and drink your wine with a joyful heart, for it is now that God favors what you do. (NIV) Sometimes you have no life. It is not a joke, although we do joke about it. Sometimes all the trappings of what we call a life are gone from our daily living. We come to points in our life where we are at a loss as to what to do to give us more control over our life. We are sometimes at a loss to change our life. We are sometimes at a loss to get rid of old problems and bring in new solutions. We are sometimes at a loss to change our life by adding anything to our life. However, we are not helpless or hopeless when we need to get a life. Most often, when we need to get a life we do not need to add new things and new stuff, although that is often our first choice. When you need a new life or need to get a life, you need to bring in a new vision of your life. When you need a new life or you need to get a life, you need hope and promise. How we see life is most often what determines how we live it. How we see life most often determines whether we think we have a life. When you think you have no life and then within a few minutes find you have the opportunity for some great new change or wonderful new solution to an old nagging problem, you whole life is changed instantly. What changed in an instant is not your life or the physical environment of your life. What changed for you was your vision, your perspective, your view of your life. We read and say that with God all things are possible. When we need to get a life, we need to start believing that God can change all things. For it is with God that the opportunity for great new changes come and it is from God that wonderful new solutions to old nagging problems flow. In other words, most of the time, your problem is not your problem, it is how you see the problem that determines whether you really have a problem. |
