There is a very big reason why God wants us to lead a holy life. The big reason why God wants us to lead a holy life is to help us survive. For example, if any group of people on earth has no respect for the human life God created, that group would easily kill other human beings off. Unfortunately, in the history of the human race, we have seen and continue to see human genocide. If all human beings on earth suddenly lost their respect and love for life in others and/or in themselves, eventually the whole human race would kill each other off. God wants us to obey Him and follow His moral example to help us survive. Not only does God want us to survive, God also wants us to prosper in the world as His children. Following the laws of God in all we say, think, and do has a common sense component of making us successful in our personal life. God’s laws of success in life are all grounded in God’s word and wisdom. The more we follow God’s word and wisdom, the more successful we will be. Most of God’s laws and wisdom are readily apparent. Some of God’s laws and wisdom are hidden except to those people who become His children. God reveals His secrets to success in life to those people most willing to live like He wants them to live. What many people do not understand is the attractive worldly trappings of power and money are a deception. Power and money can lead to death when the power and money take someone away from living a righteous life for Christ.
