why you need peace… Isaiah
53:5 But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our
iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds
we are healed. (NIV) Life always brings with it a certain amount of inner turmoil and chaos. Inner turmoil has a cost. Inner war has a cost. Inner conflict has a cost. We often have turmoil and chaos because of our sin and the temptations of life. You need peace because peace brings you the best of life. Peace brings you the spring-time of life regardless of your age or regardless of the time of the year. Peace brings you the power to be all of who God made you to be. Peace lets you sail upward to God. You find peace, the kind of peace that restores your soul, by seeing Christ. When you see Christ and you see His wounds, you are broken down and you are shattered. What breaks down and what is shattered in you, all by His design, is the sinful part of you. What breaks down and what is shattered is the part of you wanting to sin. As painful as being broken down and shattered by Christ can be, we must praise God for Christ’s wounds that break us and shatter us. We must praise God for Christ’s wounds because in His wounds we are healed, we are restored, and we are made into a new person in His love and in His grace. Christ loves you too much to leave you hurting. Christ loves you too much to let you stay broken and shattered. For in your dark moment of pain when you see what you have done to Him as He hangs upon the cross, then He comes to you, places His healing hands upon you, and He gives you new life and new peace. |
