Previous Daily Devotional About putting wisdom and knowledge into action John 13:16 I tell you the truth, no servant is greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him. 17 Now that you know these things, you will be blessed if you do them. (NIV) God provides each of us the opportunity to acquire all kinds of knowledge. Each of us determines how much of a blessing we receive in life according to how much we use and in what way we use the knowledge we acquire. A person who lives in wisdom receives more blessings than a person who lives in ignorance. Each of us has the opportunity to serve God. Each of us has the opportunity to bless the lives of others. In serving Christ, you are to serve Christ in secret and live out God's commands upon your life in humble obedience. You are God's servant. Yet, you have an ego that can goad you into thinking you can do better than God. Your ego can goad you into thinking you are the master of life. The wisdom and power God gives you is not given to you to make you selfish, but is given to you to bless others in God's name. All the experiences, wisdom, truth, and knowledge you possess can be used for His good works. No matter where you are or what you are doing, all you do can be done to give others the light of His love. In every circumstance, no matter how mundane or trivial, you can walk in service and submission to Him. As you are willing to lay down your life for Christ and His cause upon the earth, you then make His blessings available to others because you loved Him so much and because He loves you. |
