Previous Daily Devotional About words from the heart… James 3:7 All kinds of animals, birds,
reptiles and creatures of the sea are being tamed and have been tamed by man, 8
but no man can tame the tongue. It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison. (NIV) How many people would love
to take back their words after their words have left their mouth? Profanity
today is everywhere and unfortunately accepted just about everywhere. We are
bombarded by profanity in the media, at work, at school, on the playground, and
elsewhere. The mouth today in many quarters is full of poison. Too many times,
out of the mouth comes the poison of hate, spite, revenge, anger, frustration,
vulgarity, and other kinds of darkness. The poison coming out of a person’s
mouth emanates from the heart. However, when we commit our every moment to
Christ, and we commit our life to being and doing everything for Him, we open
our heart to His love. In the chaos of your heart, His love brings order. When you feel weak and faint-hearted in the battle, His love and grace in your heart strengthen you. When you open your heart, your freedom to speak godly words from your heart is used to glorify God rather than curse Him. |
