Previous Daily Devotional About worry and inaction… Mark 13:11 Whenever you are arrested and brought to trial, do not worry beforehand about what to say. Just say whatever is given you at the time, for it is not you speaking, but the Holy Spirit. (NIV) To worry is not good. To worry about things upon which we cannot act is even worse. Rather than spending your time worrying, do all you can to take action on what it is you are worrying about. Most of the time, we worry about things outside of our control. We often worry because of our fear and insecurity. We fear the future in some form so we worry about what will happen. However, in the face of our fear and insecurity, we must not be inactive. We must always be pushing forward no matter what our circumstances and no matter what we must face. When we become inactive in the face of fear and insecurity, when we decide there is nothing we can do and we do not act, the object of our worry has begun to control us instead of us controlling the object of our worry. Further thoughts about worry… When you worry, control as much as you can and trust God to take care of those things you cannot control. When you are filled with the turmoil of worry, remember Christ is the source of all peace and in Him you can always have peace. When worry churns away in your heart and soul, find the inner peace of God who is within you. When you find Him then Christ will dispel your worry with His love. When you start to worry, wait just a moment, sit down with Christ for just a moment, and tell Him your worries. Then, listen for His sure answer about being at peace in all things and at all times.
