Topic: ANGER
Anger is loaded with information and energy.
-- Audre Lorde
Comment: Anger burns. Anger burns the heart, soul, and mind of those who carry it. Anger
also burns others who are innocent and who do not deserve to be burned.
The anger she felt within her acted like yeast on bread
dough. She felt its rapid rising, flowing into every last
recess of her body; like yeast in a small bowl, it spilled
over to the outside, escaping in the form of steam
through her ears, nose, and all her pores.
-- Laura Esquivel
Comment: Anger is like a cancer that eats the heart.
A man says something very harsh to me, and I begin
to feel that I am getting heated, and he goes on till
I am perfectly angry, and forget myself, identify myself
with anger. When he first began to abuse me I still
thought, "I am going to be angry." Anger was one thing
and I was another, but when I became angry, I was
anger.
-- Vivekananda
Comment: Forgiveness is not to be held in abeyance until needed. Forgiveness is a style of
living, thinking, and being. For a person to be a forgiving person it is required that
forgiveness be in process 24/7 for every day of your life.
The first step in claiming yourself is anger.
-- Jamaica Kincaid
Comment: After you have claimed yourself in anger, what do you do with yourself in anger.
Perhaps rebuild yourself in anger. The problem is the anger tends to hang around and not
go away on its own and when you want it to go away, it owns you.
