Beyond Christmas And Caring For Others
All
of us need others to care about us. Our hearts tend to be more caring at
Christmas and during the holiday season. However, our caring must go
beyond Christmas.
Your
caring must go beyond Christmas because others need you to care about
them all year long, not just for a few days in December. Sometimes,
people let you know they can do just fine without you but this attitude
is a façade. Everyone needs someone to care about them and everyone
needs someone to care about. Everyone needs someone to love them and
everyone needs someone to love. One of our biggest responsibilities in
life is to love and care for others. Each of us can leave the love and
light of God burning in the heart of all the people we know. At
Christmas, caring is usually easier. However, in July, caring is just as
important as caring is in December. If we could see into the hearts of
all the people around us, we would be appalled at how much others need
us to love them and care about them. A kind word, a brief phone call, a
note, an email, a small gift, and certainly a mention on your prayer
list are expressions of your caring. One of the great gifts, perhaps one
of the greatest gifts you can give anyone at any time of the year is to
let them know you care about them. Give others your thoughts and
compassion. Give others your time. Give others what Christ has given to
you.
