A Gift This Christmas
It
may be a controversial statement, but the gift of hope may be a greater
gift than the gift of love. The gift of hope is a gift that keeps the
receiver of the gift alive in spirit, alive in mind, and often even
alive in body. Christ came to earth to give us hope. When we give the
gift of hope to others, we are giving to others what Christ gave to us.
When we give hope to others we give the meaning of Christmas. Our joy at
Christmas comes from knowing Christ came into the world and gave us a
hope for at eternal life. A hope for eternal life is a hope for the
future. At Christmas, our thoughts are not about the hopelessness of
life on earth. At Christmas, our thoughts are about our unlimited future
because of Christ’s great gift of hope through salvation. When Christ
was born, God gave us a vision or hope we had never had before. When you
give others hope, you give them a vision they do not have at the moment.
When you give others hope, remember the greatest gift of hope was and
still is a little baby resting in a manger two thousand years ago.
