Topic: Holding Jesus

On Christmas, as well as every other day of the year, you are invited by God to hold Jesus. In our selfish ways of thinking, we usually want God to hold us. However, true love for God, in all its forms, requires we hold Him just as much as we want Him to hold us. Holding Jesus as a newborn baby is not hard to do. Holding Jesus as a newborn baby takes away some of the pain and distractions of our life. Holding Jesus as a newborn baby requires we put Him before ourselves and we set aside our own wants and needs. Holding Jesus as a newborn baby requires we be more than we think we are. Holding Jesus as a newborn baby also requires we be more than we think we can be. Holding Jesus as a newborn baby requires we be mature and strong rather than infantile and weak. Holding Jesus as a newborn baby requires we be totally giving rather than totally taking. Holding Jesus as a newborn baby requires we express our love for Him before we ever expect His love to be expressed back to us.
