Topic: Thirteen Goals For Life

Since the terrorist attacks some people are rethinking how they live their lives. In a person's life, there are peaks and valleys. In frequent emails on our email list, one of the members has a signature line that speaks volumes about the place of God in our lives. The signature line reads, "The mountaintop is glorious but it is in the valley that I grow." One of the basic realities about life is that life is not fair. However, we are still responsible. How do we prepare our children, ourselves, and others for whom we are responsible for tough times? Some of the underlying goals of life should be (in no particular order):

1. To be strong.
2. To put on God's armor of light.
3. To always do what is right.
4. To stand tall when bad things happen.
5. To do everything possible to live a fruitful life.
6. To tell the truth.
7. To be at peace within yourself.
8. To have faith and believe in the love of God through the Holy Spirit.
9. To trust the words God sent to us because they are infallible.
10. To love one another.
11. To love God.

12. To recognize Christ for who He really is and find a new life through Him.
