Why Doesn't God Act?
In suffering we cry out to God and plead with Him to act. We so often
think, "Why doesn't God deliver? If He has the power to do away
with suffering and if He loves us, then why doesn't He make the
suffering go away?"
In truth, we do not know all the reasons for God doing and not doing
what he does. However, here is one reason. We honor, glorify, and show
God we love Him in many ways. It is difficult to understand, but we can
show God we love Him more by what we do in the adversity of life than we
can ever show Him we love Him if we are only passive recipients of His
blessings. God is more honored when those who have pain, hurt, and
trouble try to lift the burdens of those around them. God is not honored
much when we all wait in line at God's drive-up window to get what we
think we want or what we think He wants us to have.
